From 17 to 27 degrees in 120 minutes

Up early and packed, time for one last walk with Zac the dog, then taxi to the airport for flight to Alice Springs.

We had a great time in Perth and it was nice to have some down time, but we are also looking forward to some warmth again.

Because of the weather in Perth (more squally showers) pretty well all domestic flights were delayed by 30 minutes or so - and our flight to Alice was delayed by about 60 minutes.

The flight was less than half full, and not long after we left Perth the skies cleared so we had an excellent birds eye view of the interior of Western Australia and Northern Territory, including a fantastic view of Uluru (Ayres Rock) rising up from a flat landscape.

Arrival at Alice to pure blue sky, and for the first time in a few days it felt hot - 27 degrees!

Taxi from Alice airport to the motel unit we are staying in (compact and bijou!), but the complex has a fantastic swimming pool. Joseph could not wait to get in, but by the time we had organised ourselves the sun was starting to set and the temperature dropped rapidly - so the swim was fairly rapid - but gives us something to look forward to tomorrow!

Stayed at Desert Palms Resort, 74 Barrett Drive, Alice Springs NT 0871
